Secretagogues versus Exogenous Replacement
Section titled “Secretagogues versus Exogenous Replacement”The position of GHRH/GHS is “let the endogenous axis secrete on its own” — a different logic from exogenous GH replacement. Selection and reading order can proceed in two steps.
Rhythm, Pulsatility, and Timing
Section titled “Rhythm, Pulsatility, and Timing”Endogenous GH is secreted in pulses, with sleep and training as strong drivers (rhythm discussion in Growth Hormone and Aging). Short-acting GHRH analogs mimic pulsatility while long-acting formulations run on a scale of days, so the selection logic differs; claims like “dose at bedtime” depend on rhythm and individual response rather than a universal formula.
The Boundary with Exogenous GH
Section titled “The Boundary with Exogenous GH”The premise of the secretagogue route is that the axis can still respond; axis function, age, and metabolic state all shape the ceiling. Research endpoints for visceral fat and body composition are covered in Visceral Fat, and sleep-recovery synergy in Deep Sleep. Direct exogenous GH replacement is out of scope for this page.

Section titled “Safety Boundaries and Limitations”GHRH/GHS research is mostly observational on body composition; risks such as water retention and blood glucose changes need assessment. They cannot be simply equated with exogenous GH.
